Easy-to-use tool for questions about GDPR legislation
Akkade, offers consultancy services around Privacy, Data Protection and Compliancy. Months before the GDPR legislation came into effect, they started doing workshops and consultancy tracks to prepare customers for the new regulation. From these workshops, they soon found out a lot of their customers had the same questions and they started to build a database with these questions. Early 2018, they had the idea to use this database as a primary source to build a chatbot that can answer basic, yet applied, questions about the GDPR legislation.
Can we build an easy-to-use tool that replies to basic questions about the new GDPR legislation? And can we make sure that tool is maintainable by non-technical users and easily extendable with new questions and insights?
Gilbert, The Privacy Robot
During the beta testing phase of the bot, users were asked if they were satisfied with the answer provided by the bot. We used this input to train and re-train the bot. If the user confirmed the bot gave a good answer, this had a positive impact on its learning algorithms. If the user however indicated he or she was not satisfied with the answer provided, a feedback mechanism was triggered so that the user could indicate which answer he expected or why the answer provided by the bot was not correct. A human colleague of Gilbert could then look into the conversation logs to improve the performance of the bot and re-train the AI based on the feedback of its beta-users.
The chatbot will also be used to generate extra leads for our customer. At the end of the line, when someone asks these GDPR related questions, this indicates there is a need for advice. As Gilbert can only answer the most basic questions, more complex questions will require a human handover. Once the user of the chatbot indicates he needs more specialized advice, the consultants at Akkade can contact the user and help him with a more advanced consultancy track.
